Hana Khamfroush

SEC scholar June – July 2024

Hana Khamfroush is an Associate Professor at the Pigman College of Engineering. Her current research is in distributed learning (e.g., federated learning), edge computing, IoT and applied AI.  Her PhD focused on wireless network coding and wireless optimization.

Hana recently received the prestigious National Science Foundation Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award. More information about Hana’s research is in this article by UK Research News.

The initial proposal is a joint research project related to federated model-based learning for edge-enabled operational networks.
During her visit, Hana will exchange knowledge with her host, Prof. György Dán and his team to gain insight into their ongoing work related to federated learning and model-based approaches. The plan is to take this visit as an opportunity to define the proposed project’s scope and specific objectives.  Once the objectives are clearer, a simple project prototype will be implemented and ideas and tasks documented.
