Yongqiu Zhu

SEC scholar May – September 2024

Yongqiu Zhu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Transport and Planning at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. Her main research focus is addressing the challenges of uncertainty and scalability in (real-time) user-centric decision-making problems within passenger transport systems. A particular focus is on mainline railways and public transport, aiming to withstand, respond to, and adapt to unexpected abnormal operational situations, including traffic disturbances (e.g., service delays), overcrowding, and disruptions (e.g., track blockages).

She plans to work with PhDs/Postdocs in the Division of Transport Planning on smart information provision topics under abnormal situations and develop a research proposal with her host, Dr Zhenliang Ma, and colleagues in the direction of AI-aided railway planning and operations.
